David Butterfield is a Chartered Accountant, Fellow of the Taxation Institute and Registered Tax Agent.
David has had an extensive and varied professional career. Originally working at Touché Ross and then PWC he commenced his own practice in 1977. He is very much focused on value added work, providing clients with solutions to improve their profitability.
Since then, David has been involved in pooled investments. Around 50% of his clients were film and/or television producers up until around 1999. For the last 20 years his focus has been on Australian Financial Services licencing and the funds management industry
David has a particular interest in budgeting, business analysis and valuation, risk management, transaction management and taxation structuring.
David has also been the Chief Financial Officer of a listed company. He also provides a part time CFO service. This is ideal for growing businesses that do not warrant a full-time CFO but need the services of an experienced professional.
Since 2003 he has been the managing director of two funds management businesses, in property, ,mortgages, securities and derivatives, CFO of an institutional funds management business investing in securities and derivatives and also acts as a Responsible Manager on other AFSL’s with a focus on property, securities, mortgages and SIV Funds. His specialties include AFSL advice, management of legal services, strategic advice, project and transaction management, business valuations, taxation and general business advice.
AFSL Applications and Variations
David has prepared several AFSL applications and AFSL variations over an eight year period. He has been a responsible manager on various AFSL’s over a 20-year period.
